Private Practice in Älmhult

Welcome to Bloom; a Private Child Therapy Practice in Älmhult!
My name is Lianne Wuts and I am a Child- and Adolescent health care psychologist licensed in the Netherlands (GZ psycholoog BIG: 49931942425). See more information about my education and background in ‘About Me’.
I have been working with children and adolescents in the age of 0-18 years in the mental healthcare sector in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom for over 12 years. I am still employed by a clinic in the Netherlands through which I offer online therapy. Next to this I am now opening Bloom, a private Child Therapy practice in Älmhult. My workplace is situated at the Achima Care vårdcentral at Kungsgatan 14 in Älmhult.
I offer therapy services (in English or Dutch) to children in the age of 3-18 years who struggle with emotional problems (anxiety, depression), sensory problems, traumatic experiences and neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism and ADHD. My focus is on specialized methods that are acknowledged as best practice by the international guidelines but not (extensively) covered by public Swedish health care services. All methods are evidence based from clinical practice and I have followed specialized training for them on top of my health care psychology post-master education.
Any therapy is always tailored to suit the individual needs of your child. The following therapy services are some of my specializations:
• Children’s Play therapy (3-12 years)
• EMDR (trauma therapy)
• Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
• Psycho-education for parents and their children with autism, ADHD, trauma, anxiety disorders, depression.
• Mindfulness training (Sitting Still Like a Frog, Eline Snel method)
You can contact me if you have other questions related to your child’s mental health and are looking for help, so we can discuss the options. I have a broad experience in the field of child psychology also beyond the above listed therapies.

Play therapy is a form of therapy that uses play to help children express their feelings without words. The aim is to decrease behavioral and emotional difficulties that interfere with a child’s normal functioning.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a practical approach that helps children understand and manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

Psycho-education is an evidence based therapeutic intervention for children and parents and is a process of providing knowledge, skills and support about mental health conditions (e.g. ADHD/autism) to better understand and cope with mental illness.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy treatment that is designed to alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories or disturbing life experiences.

Mindfulness is about being fully present in the moment and learning to be aware of our thoughts, feelings, and experiences without judgment. It is offered in different age groups up to 6 children.

Bloom Child Therapy is a Private Practice that operates independently of the Swedish healthcare system. This means that services provided are not covered by public insurance. Parents and/or caregivers are responsible for the full costs of consultations and therapy sessions.
Free 20-minute Phone Consultation
Before the intake, we’ll have an initial phone consultation to discuss your child’s specific challenges and your concerns. This will help me understand your child’s needs and determine if my expertise aligns with your or your child’s situation. We’ll explore your child’s symptoms, how they impact daily life, and what you hope to achieve through therapy or private counseling and I can answer any other questions you might have.
Based on this information I can better assess the appropriate care to provide. If we proceed we can schedule an intake appointment and I will send you the necessary paperwork and questionnaires to complete providing information about your child’s history, development, current concerns and reason for seeking help.
Intake session
We will meet eachother at our first scheduled intake session. Typically most of the intake session for a younger child is with the parents and/or caregivers only. This session involves a comprehensive assessment of the child’s development, behavior, and emotional state. As a parent and/or caregiver you need time to tell your story and as a therapist I need to gather important information about the concerns, your child’s history, challenges, and family dynamics. Older children (>12) may be joining some or all of the session.
Following the intake, we develop a treatment plan tailored to your child’s specific needs. This plan outlines therapy goals, interventions and frequency of sessions. Ongoing communication and collaboration with parents or caregivers are essential throughout the process.
Intake session: 45 minutes direct contact (typically caregivers/parents only unless child > 12 years), 60 minutes indirect: 1690 sek (inc. 25% VAT/Moms).
The fee for the intake session includes a comprehensive assessment of your child’s needs. The 45-minute session involves direct parent-therapist interaction. To ensure thorough preparation and planning, an additional hour is allocated for paperwork and questionnaire review and treatment plan development.

After the intake session and consent of both parents/caregivers the treatment plan will be followed and a first session with your child can be scheduled.
Therapy sessions: 45 minutes (direct with your child), 15 minutes (indirect): 1490 sek (incl. 25% VAT/Moms).
Sessions are 60 minutes in total, consisting of a 45-minute session with your child and 15 minutes for note-taking and preparation for our next session.
